This is probably the first math you will learn after counting. Addition is just counting, but by different values at a time. It allows you to count by numbers other than one. When you are counting numbers, you are still doing addition, but only by one number at a time. Today I will help you extend that idea and use it.

Counting is simply using addition. Let's use that as an example. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 is actually 1 + 1 = 2, 2 + 1 = 3, 3 + 1 = 4. To add, all you have to do is take the number and count that much above it. 3 + 2 = 5, because you have to count two more numbers up from three. Four and five. Let's try another example. 6 + 3 = 9, because you have to count three more numbers up from six. They would be seven, eight, and finally, your answer, nine.
Hopefully you are good at addition now. If you want to extend your knowledge, try a quiz under the addition section. If you want to extend you knowledge even more, try other addition and go farther in learning it. Eventually, you will even learn subtraction, which is just the opposite of addition.
